Busy Bees (Reception)
Welcome to Busy Bees!
In the Early Years Foundation Stage we cover the following seven areas of learning:
- Communication and language
- Physical development
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding of the world
- Expressive arts and design
This term our topic is 'All about me'. Have a look at the overview below to find out what we will be learning. P.E is every Friday so make sure your child wears their P.E. kit to school.
What can I do at home to support my child's learning?
- Reading your child's book from school together regularly
- Doing the weekly homework together
- Enjoying story books together
- Playing turn-taking games
- Practising writing their name
- Using pencils, paints and other media to mark make
- Singing rhymes and number songs together
- Encouraging your child to fasten their coat and shoes independently
- Online mathematics and phonics games (links are below)
- Fine-motor skill activities such as using scissors, moulding playdough, threading, using lego (more ideas are on the link below)

Busy Bees Team
You are always welcome to come and talk to the team in Busy Bees. Miss Hinkley is the class teacher for Busy Bees 1, with Miss Andrews as teaching assistant and key worker. Miss McCaig and Mrs Gibson are the class teachers for Busy Bees 2 with Miss Livarjani as senior teaching assistant and key worker.
